Day 13

Better To Support The Lame Than To Pull Them Up

“To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people, that by all means I might save some.” 1Corinthians 9 verse 22

The quiet guy in the corridor , the girl that sits in the back of the classroom and is ignored , the people that the world seems not to notice. Before I write the rest it needs to be said im very guilty of spiritual pride and and spiritual laziness. Ill happily witness to the people that I will  normally meet in my daily routine. Happy in my own wee bubble of safety.
But as we see here Paul didnt just talk to the weak and he even didnt just meet them he “became” weak, for our witness to be effective , through Gods help, we need to love the people around us and get involved in their lives, I dont think Paul is advocating going out drinking to witness to the drinkers or start smoking to convert the smokers, that kind of witnessing although maybe with all good intentions of heart , is flawed. We are to love our neighbor as ourselves, and that (in my case anyway) is alot of love.
Witnessing isnt a conveyor belt style tally of the amount of souls you have led to God, I very much doubt God keeps record. As we see here witnessing is a personal action its taking the time to know and love the people around you and not just the ones that are in your daily routine , but God will equip us to witness to whoever he puts in our path.
All we need do is open our hearts and ask God to use us . It wont be easy, Paul was in and out of prison , receiving constant beatings and abuse but still he wanted to do Gods will.  Paul was in no way any more or less Holy than you or I he simply put his whole trust in God. Christ stepped down from utmost glory to a world that he knew would hate him he humbled himself for us , there is nothing that we cannot sacrifice to him in return.

” We are all missionaries…Wherever we go, we either bring people nearer to Christ, or we repel them from Christ”
